Arrive to Yorkshire and check into your hotel. There may be some free time to explore Harrogate.

Your Yorkshire pudding experience awaits! In this private dining experience you will enjoy a glass of prosecco, along with a main course. Your desert will consist of 5 puddings* to experience, where you will get to vote for the best pudding with your ‘pudding master’. You will also receive a Yorkshire pudding experience certificate.

*Puddings:  There will be a selection of different puddings including one made from a Yorkshire Pudding.  Other options may include: Sticky Toffee Pudding / Chocolate Pudding / Treacle Puddings / Spotted Dick  – to name a few.

Free day in York

Today we travel to York, an historic city surrounded by 13^th-century walls. Make your way through the medieval web of narrow streets to the immense, awe-inspiring York Minster, surely one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the world. Visit Clifford’s Tower, originally built by William the Conqueror, or York Castle Museum with an authentically recreated Victorian Street. Don’t miss the remarkable Shambles, York’s most famous street, with overhanging timber-framed buildings, some dating back to the fourteenth century, and the ‘snickelways’ that lead off it. If you are visiting in November, the Christmas markets will be taking place.

York visitor attraction admissions can be included at a supplement.

Skipton River Cruise and Keighley & Worth Valley Railway

Today we head for Skipton, the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ for a relaxing cruise on the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Afterwards we take a steam train ride on the picturesque Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, the setting for the 1970 film ‘The Railway Children’. There is an option for a Christmas dinner on the boat for the November date (supplement available on request).

Depart or free day in Harrogate and RHS Harlow Carr

This morning we stay close to home with time to explore Harrogate. Take a stroll through Valley Gardens or indulge in some retail therapy and discover the many independent shops and boutiques. Rest your legs with a cup of tea and a slice of cake at the famous Betty’s Café Tea Rooms. In  the afternoon visit the magnificent Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Harlow Carr (included in April date only, but is open in November if you wish to include). This 58-acre garden site features much to delight any gardener, including streamside planting, a Kitchen Garden, Scented Garden and much more. And if you weren’t able to take tea at Betty’s in Harrogate, there’s another one here.

Return home

Depending on your route home why not explore the nearby stately homes, Harewood House or Castle Howard.
