A Castle, King and 2 Wannabe Princesses in Leicestershire
Claire (Sales) and Lisa (UK Ops Manager) took to the road again to visit Leicestershire.
First stop was Belvoir Castle in Grantham, pronounced “beaver” and featured in many films and TV series. The beauty of this Regency home did not disappoint, from their first view they knew it was going to be wonderful.
Driving through the parkland you can see the Castle perched high above, whilst the views from the terrace of the surrounding countryside were breathtaking. The grandeur of the interior where royalty have been can be seen in the rooms, with elegant furnishings and a fabulous art collection. The formal gardens in spring colours made the Castle look stunning in the sunshine.
A quick visit to the Belvoir Castle Retail Village for research purposes was made before continuing onto Leicester.
At Leicester Cathedral and King Richard III visitor centre, they discovered the incredible story of King Richard III, from his death, burial and to his discovery.
The following day they visited hotels from 3* to 4* each offering something different for a great stay in the city.
Before leaving they walked through Castle Gardens to Grand Union Canal seeing medieval Leicester ending at Jewry Wall, one of the largest remaining Roman masonry structures in Britain.
