The highs of London with the New Meridian
Claire from the Sales Team has just returned from an action packed few days in London with the New Merdian for their AGM.
Experiencing the best of what the capital has to offer, her first visit was to ‘stample’! The Postal Museum, filled with collections telling the 500-year-old story of British postal communication and its continued impact on life around the world today. She saw vehicles, uniforms, pillar boxes and stamps as well as the Jolly Postman exhibition.
The next day a walking tour with a Blue Badge Guide was needed after a scrumptious gala dinner the evening before. The walk to Greenwich Park took in a spectacular view filled with incredible royal history, a picturesque World Heritage Site and a scenic riverside setting that led to the Cutty Sark, the historic ship in the heart of Greenwich. Able to wander from main deck to dry dock, this Victorian tea clipper brings what life was like for crew. From a ship to a boat, Claire boarded a Thames Clipper uber boat to take a modern journey along the River Thames passing the iconic landmarks to reach Battersea Power Station.
At Battersea Power Station is The Chimney Lift Experience, accenting up 109 meters, providing stunning 360-degree views of London’s skyline. The north-west chimney an icon in the sky, was next on the trip to visit and did not disappoint.
Back on the ground, the next tour was an Afternoon Tea Bus experience driving by London’s famous landmarks, wonderful way to see the city whilst enjoying lovely food and a glass of fizz.
The evening was filled with laughter watching Disney’s Hercules at the beautiful Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
For the final day following sponsors presentations, a visit to London Transport Museum in Covent Garden to see the fantastic collection of trains, buses and everything ‘transport’ as well as the Art deco: the golden age of poster design exhibition.
With one last stop at Hard Rock Cafe and Piccadilly Circus for an early dinner before heading home. This Hard Rock flagship property pays tribute to the building’s prestigious heritage and unbeatable West End location.
