RHS Garden Rosemoor

Nestled in the beautiful Torridge Valley in North Devon, in between Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, RHS Garden Rosemoor is a hidden gem and a real treat for garden lovers at any time of year.

Spread across 65 acres the original garden was created by Lady Anne Berry, over a period of some thirty years. The garden was offered to the RHS in 1988 and has continued to be developed. It’s a true plantsman’s garden, with plenty of areas of interest and incredible beauty.

Garden Highlights for Groups

Rose Gardens

Rosemoor has become known for its two outstanding rose gardens – The Queen Mother’s Rose Garden, featuring modern roses, and the Shrub Rose Garden, planted with more traditional roses.

Rosemoor’s Long Borders

These are 150m (500ft) long. Our Long Borders are always popular with visitors because of their immense variety of plants. You can’t help moving along the border to see what is behind the next neatly clipped pillar.

The Hot Garden

These more than live up to their name, with waves of plants chosen for their heat and vibrancy. The area features Prairie style planting, and many of the plants used are from the grassland habitats of North America.

The Potager and Cottage Garden

Colourful and scented plants, along with a charming thatched summer house, make the Cottage Garden a very popular area of Rosemoor. Next to the Cottage Garden, the Potager is an ornamental kitchen garden.

The Stone Garden

This is one of the oldest parts of the garden, offering excellent growing conditions for a range of plants. A corner rich in history, originally designed by Lady Anne’s mother in 1932, this is one of the oldest parts of the garden.

Lady Anne’s Arboretum

In Lady Anne’s Arboretum many of the trees were raised from seed collected by Lady Anne, who maintained meticulous records of the origin of every plant in her collection. The Bicentary Arboretum is a living reference of the northern hemisphere’s finest trees.

Delicious food to tempt you

Opened in 2018, Gardeners Rest Restaurant offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and wonderful menus, with inspiration taken from the seasons best.
