Weekend in Dublin

Lisa & Gail from our UK operations team had the pleasure of spending the weekend in Dublin, thanks to our hosts Staycity Aparthotels!

It was an action packed 48 hours. There were lots of giggles and fun on the Viking Splash Tour, which is a tour of the city half on land, half on water. Education mixed with local humour, the guide was hilarious and it was a great start to the trip! After visiting some of the Staycity properties, the team headed off to Trinity College to view the world famous Book of Kells. The ‘Long Room’ is undoubtedly one of the most impressive libraries in the world, with college students still studying the books to this day.

In the afternoon, the group headed to the huge city centre stadium of Croke Park, to watch the thrilling Hurling final between Dublin and Galway. This local traditional sport is the fastest field sport in the world, and was a really enthralling watch! No visit to Dublin would be complete without a visit to the world famous Guiness Storehouse, with the opportunity to pull your own pint and sample the black stuff from its origin. The trip was topped off with a wonderful selection of food and drink, and as ever, the Irish hospitality was tip top!
