Of course there are its famous Bulbfields with Keukenhof Gardens at its heart. A trip to see these between end of March and mid May each year is a must see. Why not combine them with a cruise and steam train in our best selling Steaming through the Dutch Bulbfields tour. One of our most successful tours over the last few years has been to Zundert Flower Parade, an amazing parade which has to be seen to believed! You can combine this parade with a visit to Rotterdam, home to the biggest port in Europe, which on the first weekend of September celebrates World Port Day….a favourite with many of our customers.

Valkenburg is another favourite, making a great base for some fantastic excursions and home to its famous Christmas markets in the caves below the town. Lovely Dutch towns such as The Hague, Delft and its maze of canals (don’t forget the famous pottery!), Utrecht and Arnhem which makes a great base for a WW2 Battlefield tour, are all waiting to be explored.

We can’t forget Amsterdam of course, full of famous museums such as the Rijksmuseum, Anne Franks House and the Van Gogh Museum. Renowned for its canals, you can take a number of different cruises from 75 minute sightseeing cruises to lunch and candlelit dinner cruises. Don’t forget the short excursions that can be made to the traditional villages of Zaanse Schans and Volendam.

Access to Holland could not be easier by coach via Dover/Folkestone or one of the overnight crossings from Newcastle, Hull and Harwich. You can fly from a host of UK airports to Schiphol airport or take the Eurostar to Brussels and with one chance you can be in Amsterdam.
