The old town avoided serious damage during the second world war and therefore is rich in Gothis and Renaissance monuments and churches. Zakopane is situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains and the scenery is stunning. Take the funicular to Mount Gubalowka to admire the spectacular panorama. Combine your visit Krakow with a couple of nights in Warsaw to visit these two fantastic cities.
Visit the Czech Republic and its main attraction Prague. This ancient capital of Bohemia is steeped in history and has retained its magic and unique charm. A half-day guided city tour will show you the highlights of the city – Prague Castle and the immense St. Vitus’ Cathedral, and many other architectural gems. Wenceslas Square is a real draw with its many shops, restaurants, cafés and stunning Art Nouveau buildings.
In Eastern Europe, Bulgaria and Romania are less-visited but customers who have been have come back raving about it. Bulgaria’s cities are a delight to explore – from dynamic and cosmopolitan Sofia with its beautiful parks, sociable alfresco cafes and fascinating museums, to the National Revival architectural treasures and Roman remains of Plovdiv and the maritime town of Varna.
